Steps to follow changing IP address
- Backup Synology DirectoryServer with Hyper Backup
- Change the NAS IP address : Update the network configuration of the Synology NAS in Control Panel > Network Network Interface to the new static IP address.
- Update DNS record in the DNS Server Package
- Restart Synology Directory Server
- Force DC re-registration of DNS record
/var/packages/SMBService/target/usr/sbin/samba_dnsupdate –use-samba-tool
- Update DNS settings on the NAS in Control Panel > Network > General
- On clients’ side, run the following command
ipconfig /registerdns
